Last year, the much delayed and hotly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 was finally released for the Playstation 3. Fans of the series were pleased by its high level of quality, though most were a bit bothered by how inconsistent the game was across its various features. Some things were fleshed out, and others were bare-bones. [...]

id Software is one of those developers who do not release a game until they feel it is done. Unfortunately, this also makes them less than prolific. The theory though is that quality trumps quantity. With Rage this theory has proven itself to be true. Use Facebook to Comment on this Post

It takes quite a lot to really annoy me when it comes to PC DRM schemes. One time activation of games before playing isn’t too onerous. I can tolerate Games for Windows Live and its attempts to shoehorn console conventions onto the PC. But one thing I can’t tolerate is Ubisoft’s ridiculous draconian always-on DRM. [...]

Forza Motorsport 4 is easily one of my most anticipated games for this year. I am a huge fan of what Turn 10 has done with the series thus far, and it seems like for the fourth installment they’re looking to make the best possible racing game in the genre. It’s a lofty goal, but [...]

Occasionally you want to play a game to help you relax. Chime Super Deluxe is just the sort of game you’ll want to have on hand for those occasions. In 2009 a little PC game called Torchlight was released via various digital distribution outlets. The game had very low system requirements which allowed it to run on almost any PC. It became quite a popular game in the months since its release so developer Runic Games has decided to bring the game to a [...]

The last time I played a new Contra game was Contra: Shattered Soldier on the PS2. Since then there have been Xbox Live Arcade releases of the original and Super Contra games. What we have not seen though is a true, new entry into the Contra franchise. Arc System Works and Konami are addressing this [...]

This was the scene at RedOctane’s funeral for the Air Guitar at the European launch of Guitar Hero II. Irony has a nasty way of coming back at you, no? With the Guitar Hero series being nixed by Activision, it seemed like a good time to look back at the various titles in the franchise [...]
