Forthcoming Exodus from Infinity Ward?

Following the dismissal of president Jason West and CEO Vince Zampella of Infinity Ward (developer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2), both of which had eight years or more experience with the company, Kotaku is reporting that two more big names have jumped ship.

Todd Alderman, Lead Designer and Francesco Gigliotti, Lead Software Engineer have also bailed from Infinity Ward. Official reasons for their resignations are unknown at this time, but it’s a pretty probable bet that they too were unhappy with Activision’s treatment of their studio, treatment that included the withholding of bonus payments.

The resignations of talent at top levels of an organization like this sound to us like the precursor of a larger mass exodus of talent from the famed development studio. What then, will Activision do when all the talent responsible for their most popular series has left?

I spend more time reading and writing about gaming, but when I do get a chance to grab the sticks, you bet I'll be unavailable for the next few hours. I hope to complete my Masters in Computer Science in a few years and one day actually help make some of the games I love.
