2K Jumpstarts BioShock 2 DLC Early With Sinclair Solutions

2K Games will be adding more multiplayer features to BioShock 2 as soon as next month with the release of the Sinclair Solutions Test Pack DLC. Among the new content will be new trials, weapon upgrades, playable characters, and higher rank levels.

Due out next month for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, the Sinclair Solutions will the first part in what 2K games calls “an aggressive post-launch downloadable content plan” for BioShock 2. Aggressive downloadable content plan may be an understatement however, as the Sinclair Solutions will feature a ton of content a mere month after release.

Specifically, the DLC will focus on multiplayer by adding two new playable characters Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca, 20 new trials, five additional masks, a third weapon upgrade to each weapon, and increase rank levels to 50.

“The fans who waited in the snow, rain and cold for the midnight launch of BioShock 2 have spoken and their message is that Rapture still has many fascinating stories to tell,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Downloadable content is a key part of our efforts to continue to entice the fans that have made 2K a household name – we intend to deliver single and multiplayer content that respects and expands upon one of the greatest fictional worlds ever created.”

This is just the first step towards 2K’s vision of delivering mass amounts of DLC content for BioShock 2. Those ambitions are clear in the wording of this content’s title: “Test Pack.” For a Test Pack, this already has quite a bit and it’ll sure be interesting to see how they plan to extend the single-player content, which promises to reveal more secrets about Rapture and its inhabitants.

The Sinclair Solutions Test Pack will cost 400 Microsoft points, or, in more human language, $4.99.
