Utah Passes More Useless Gaming Legislation

Not surprising since the previous administration didn’t understand the Constitution and even wanted to bastardize it (READ: Bush Administration Weighed Restricting 1st Amendment) – only political comment, I swear – but Utah has passed the seemingly 200th piece of legislation aimed at protecting children from heroin’s gateway drug: videogames.  Slamming down on the X button is just like shooting up – those were the days.

I could say more, but I’ve exhausted myself on the subject with my op-ed Sex, Drugs, and GTA: The Failure of Parents. At the end of the day, what pisses me off is that we’re in the middle of a recession which has required the government to step in and spend trillions of dollars on banks and economic stimulus plans, and the now scarce amount of tax payers dollars left in the government’s bank account is being spent to pay the salaries of these idiot legislators in Utah who obviously haven’t seen that California, Michigan, and Louisiana‘s game bills have all been ruled unconstitutional. And those are only the ones from the first page of Google results for the keyword “game bill unconstitutional.”

But what do you expect from a state where there the largest religion believes in magical underwear and that Jesus spoke to Native Americans.
