UPDATE: New Final Fantasy XIII Screens & Videos Surface, Agito and Versus XIII as Well

UPDATE: We have also just received new trailers for Final Fantasy XIII. More details after the image gallery.
We have just received scans from the latest issue of V-Jump, a Japanese videogame and manga magazine, that show brand new images of Final Fantasy XIII. The new scans show some screenshots of in-game battles as well as exploration.
There are a few details about the game we have been able to decipher despite knowning no Japanese. There appears to be a very prominent red-headed female character that is reminiscent of Rikku from Final Fantasy X. The gameplay screens are hard to decode, as the menu system looks a bit different and disjointed by comparison to previous FF games. Also, FFXIII appears to stay the course set by FFXII by showing enemies on the field rather than throwing players into random battles.
Aside from that, it definitely looks like it has that hybrid of sci-fi plus fantasy that seems to define most Final Fantasy adventures. The character models are what you would expect and the game looks pretty beautiful.
Enjoy the screens, and click them to expand the images to their full size.
UPDATE (CONT’D): We’ve also been made privy to three new trailers for Final Fantasy XIII, Versus XIII, and Agito that have not yet officially been made available to the press. So we had to resort to the back alleys of gaming journalism to recover these. Oh and that’s right, there are 3 FFXIII games in development because apparently turning that into a cash cow before the first game is ever released makes more sense to Square Enix than the obvious cash cow of a FFVII remake that fans have been requesting for nearly a decade.
But, on to the trailers!
The first is for Final Fantasy XIII and it includes about 31 flavors of awesome. That’s the only slip of the tongue you’ll get from me, an admittedly open Final Fantasy fan. Time to slip back on the journalist hat. The trailer features Shiva, Ifrit, what appears to be Leviathan, a blonde guy on a motorcycle, airships all over the place, and storm trooper looking soldiers.
The next video is of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but your impatience probably makes a summary somewhat unnecessary. Therefore, enjoy:
Lastly, Final Fantasy XIII: Agito:

Saw these a few days back I belive. I can't decide about this game yet, looks to flashy sometimes. But it's FF and I will buy it one day 1 anyways.

What do you mean? All the three games are seperate games. None of them will have any conection other then the Crystals.

This may not be a very ppular opinion, but do we really need a sequel to span three entire games? It just seems wrong to me somehow.

They all have XIII in the title. They're all different games but they've all got the same main title. I think this marketing is going a little far if you ask me.

That, I can agree on. It will make people belive that to have the entire story they need all the games. But I don't mind that much, I try to look at that was 3 different games. Calling on just FFV, one FFA and the last on FFXIII : )
