According to former staff and insider info, the reason for switching to a news feed for GamerNode was due to necessity...all the staff writers quit. There was major turmoil leading up to this for reasons having to due with the CEO and VP going back on their word on paying staff, compensating staff for work, and a host of other reasons dealing with lack of appreciation of staff.

The news feed idea was brought up to fill the complete void of content on GamerNode. With no more writers on board, and key personal quitting, GamerNode was dead in the water. It is doubtful that John Clabo was absolutely innocent of knowing about the news feed idea since he was always updated on the progress, or lack thereof, of GamerNode. He attended staff meetings, after-all. His reported talent for dodging responsibility and owning up to his actions are not without merit, as was also David Henry, his VP.

Regardless, GamerNode is a skeleton of its former self, with many former staff members disillusioned and angry at being used and misled.

GamerNode, at least in the eyes of its former members and writers, holds no legitimacy as either a gaming site or a credible business.
